2010 High School Students Toured a Waste Water Treatment Plant

Tuesday, August 2, 2011 - 00:00

As part of a water quality activity, high school students toured a non-functioning waste water treatment plant in San Cristóbal and observed how raw untreated sewer is still discharged directly into a major river. Then they visited the Boca de Nigua River to observe the effects of the contamination. The activity was taught by Dr. R. Terry and students from BYU.

2011 course design will build upon this experience.
